What started as a study to provide an in-law suite with separate entrance soon became a design for an addition that would flexibly serve as in-law suite now and later a master bedroom suite or even family room. Rooms were sized and walls were located to accommodate multiple uses. Careful consideration was given for privacy and in wall plumbing allowed for ease of future alteration. A new angled carport and revised front entry maintained the mid-century look of the home while lending a refreshed and improved identity with crisp new construction. The addition roughly doubled the usable area while carefully maintaining both the street visible scale and proportions of the original home.
